    Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro signs concession contracts for blocks 1, 2 and 4 of CEDAE, totaling BRL 22.6 billion in concession fees

    On August 11 and 12, the government of the state of Rio de Janeiro signed with the companies Águas do Rio (linked to the AEGEA consortium) and Iguá Rio de Janeiro (Iguá consortium) the concession contracts for water and wastewater services related to blocks 1, 2 and 4 of CEDAE - State Water and Sewage Company, auctioned off in April this year with support from BNDES, the Ministry of Regional Development (MDR) and PPI.     PPI holds meeting with Superintendence of Private Insurance and Federal Regulators to discuss new rules for Surety Bonds

    On Wednesday (8/11), the PPI Secretariat for Partnerships in Transportation held a meeting with representatives of the Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP) to discuss the Draft Circular on the new rules for Surety Bonds in Brazil, which was submitted to a Public Consultation concluded in July 31.     Chico Mendes Institute signs concession contracts of National Parks of Aparados da Serra and Serra Geral

    On August 12, the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio)/Ministry of the Environment (MMA) signed with Construcap the concession contracts of the National Parks of Aparados da Serra and Serra Geral. Supported by PPI, the concession process will allow investments estimated at BRL 260 million. The project was carried out under the new MMA concession model, in which the concessionaire is responsible for revitalizing, modernizing, operating, and maintaining the parks, as well as providing support services to tourists, including food, parking, and security.     ANP approves bid documents for the 2nd Round of the Transfer of Rights

    The National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANP) approved, on August 11, the tender protocol and the models of contracts for the Second Transfer of Rights Surplus Production Sharing Bidding Round, qualified in the PPI through Decree 9.973/2019. According to the Preliminary Schedule released by the ANP, the Tender Protocol and the Draft Contracts should be published on October 15, after being submitted to the analysis of the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) and the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME).     Power regulator Aneel approves tender protocol for the Transmission Auction 02/2021 and the project goes to the Federal Court of Accounts

    On August 6, the Board of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency - ANEEL approved the draft tender protocol for Transmission Auction no. 2/2021.   Qualified in the PPI by Decree 10653/2021, Transmission Auction no. 2/2021 comprises 902 km of transmission lines and 750 MVA of transformation capacity, divided into five lots in the states of Amapá, Bahia, Minas Gerais, Paraná, and São Paulo.
    Scheduled to take place on December 17 at B3's headquarters in São Paulo, the auction involves investments estimated at BRL 2.7 billion, that should create around 6200 direct jobs.

    Studies for the destatization of Codesa and public ports of Vitória (ES) and Barra do Riacho (ES) filed with the Court of Accounts

    On August 6, the National Agency for Waterways Transport (ANTAQ) filed with the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) the documents related to Codesa's privatization and the concession of the public ports of Vitória and Barra do Riacho, in the state of Espírito Santo. The projects involve investments estimated at BRL 1.6 billion. Prepared by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), under the coordination of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Codesa's project is the first one aimed at privatizing public ports in Brazil, and has been qualified in PPI through Decree 9.852/2019.     PPI promotes virtual meeting with managers of partnership initiatives from subnational governments

    The Special Secretariat of the PPI promoted on Friday (08/06) the "4th PPI Dialogue with Partnership Secretariats of the Federation Units". Held virtually, the event brought together secretaries, managers, and servers of 19 states that work with Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) agendas  to exchange experiences. 
    "The objective of the Dialogues with the federative entities is to bring the subnational governments closer to PPI and to our partners in the preparation of these projects, BNDES and Caixa, to discuss experiences, challenges, and advances," explained PPI Special Secretary Martha Seillier.
